5.0 out of 5 stars Reviewed in the United States on February 18, 2016 This is an excellent read. I enjoyed all the true stories and the inspirational quotes. The author gives you a glimpse of prison life and of the people who are serving time. Some of them are the prisoners and some of them are the jailers. "My Life in Prison, An Education of the Heart" is fascinating. You will read it cover to cover once you start.

Great stories from a great writer...

Toni Carter wrote about many things that happen in a medium security prison that people living on outside of the prison walls would never know or hear about. It enlightened me to no end. Toni Carter writes in a style that kept me on the edge of my seat. I could not put the book down once I started reading. Great stories from a great writer.

HIGHLY ACCURATE DEPICTION...

I worked in California prisons and Ms. Carter's description is very real. The only way to survive as a non-guard employee is to maintain optimism and resilience. She tells it like it is.
